FAQs

What is the difference between the p1 and the s1 scanner?

The S1 LiDAR Scanner gives an even more detailed scan of the area than the P1 Scanner. The S1 utilizes 16 sensors scanning a total of 320,000 points per second and boasts a range of 120 meters, triple that of the P1. This scanner is for the user looking for detailed scans of larger areas.

How much bigger is the s1 unit than the p1?

The S1 Scanner comes in at 2.2 kg or 4.85 lbs compared to the 1 kg weight of the P1. While the scanner is twice as heavy as it’s little brother, it is still easily manageable when handheld.

What possible configurations are there using the s1 scanner

The S1 Scanner can be used handheld, mounted on a vehicle, attached to a custom body harness, and mounted on a drone to give users a wide range of ways to scan a space.

Is there different software between the P1 and s1 Scanners?

All of FJ Dynamics LiDAR data collection and processing software is compatible with both the P1 and the S1 Scanners.
